Dear
Sharon,
A
somewhat belated message of thanks for the tour of the
battlefields that we came on together with our friends on August
23rd.
It was
a great day delivered with passion and great respect for those who
fought and lost their lives. It was also a privilege to meet some
of the gardeners from the War Graves Commission who so lovingly
tend the cemeteries. Your voice is ideal for the subject and the
commentary was very informative.......

Jane Hale.

Dear Sharon and Philippe,
Thank you so much for responding. We were
in your lovely country in September 2005 and Philippe, you made
our trip wonderful...... The Tyne Cot Cemetery still stands out
in my mind. It reminded me of our Arlington Cemetery for our
service men here in the States........

Dear Sharon,
A
brief message to thank you for a wonderful tour last
Friday!
The way in which we were taken through ‘Flanders Fields’ was
sensitive, informative, evocative and spell-binding; history
brought to life in a manner that was entirely appropriate to the
place, people and events concerned. Both Ali and I are involved
in education, and were able to appreciate the skills and natural
abilities you demonstrated as a communicator.
A
perfect end to our week away in Bruges, and we could not have
asked for anything more from the experience.
Many, many thanks
Mike and Ali

Hi Sharon,
This is just a quick "thank you" for
the two tours we went on in September when we were in Brugge. The
Flanders Fields tour was quite fascinating and when we teamed up
with Johan as well, answered all of Gerald's questions concerning
his father's movements in WWI, to the extent that he's now
completely satisfied with all the information provided. The
Triple Treat tour was excellent.
Thanks again, Sharon - we would highly
recommend your tours for anyone who is in Brugge!

I am back in Canada but wanted to send along a thank you for the
absolutely excellent tour with Philippe of Ypres area on Thursday
past.
I am so glad I took the time for this opportunity which was so
moving to me. I was very touched by Philippe’s commitment which
helped to make the experience very moving indeed.
Thanks again so very much.

Just a note to thank you for the fantastic Flanders Fields Tour on
Wednesday 22 August. As a former teacher of history and someone
who has taught The First World War and indeed used the Coats
booklet on Ypres back in the 80s, I would like to say how
informative and interesting the tour was. As with all good
teachers, your knowledge and passion for your subject matter came
over very well with, indeed, a tear in the eye with the reading of
In Flanders Fields by John McRae at Essex Farm.

Hello, Philippe and Sharon
Paul and I wanted to follow up on yesterday's tour and
tell you how great it was. Both of us came away with the
same feeling: we learned so much more than we had expected and
now have a much deeper understanding of the events leading up to
the war and of how the war unfolded. So, thank you! It was
an unforgettable experience.
On a personal note, I also wanted to add how much I
enjoyed seeing (and experiencing) how your company has evolved
from the early days. One of the main reasons we wanted to
do the tour on this trip was that the tour I took back in 1993
was the highlight of my trip to Brugge ... and, now that I was
here with my husband, who had never been here before, I wanted
to share with him the best of Brugge. You did
not disappoint!
All the best, Anya Keefe, CA

Thank you for a sensitive and thought
provoking tour. Although we had
some knowledge of the struggles, your
informative description whilst
we were standing on the spot has given us
a much clearer realisation
of what life was like for those soldiers,
the effect on the lives of
local people, then and now, and the
overall story of how events unfolded.
We feel very strongly that this tour made
our trip to Bruges a very
important one in our lives and have
already recommended you to other
hotel guests, thanks again and our best
wishes to you,
Margaret and John Goodhead, UK

The tour of the Flanders
Fields with Philippe was one of the highlights of our trip to
Belgium. We had a very full day, and learned an awful lot!
Thanks Again!

Dear Sharon,
We just wanted to thank you for such
an interesting and informative trip last Tuesday(11th). The whole
day was I think enjoyed by all of us, but particularly my husband
as he has wanted to go to the Flanders fields for a long time.
This was by way of being a 70th birthday trip for him (although a
month late!) The information, the sites and the sheer scale of the
events in 1914/18 were certainly brought home to us in such a
sensitive way.
Thank you

Dear Philippe and Sharon
Now safely home in soggy England we just
wanted to thank you for our tour: "Triple Treat" on Friday. The
castle, chateau and even the enforced diversion were very
interesting as were all the other elements of the treat.
We had a delicious meal at de Vlaamsche Pot
on Friday evening: the beef was all you promised it would be.
Again our thanks for another good day out
with Quasimodo: we wish you both all the best (and perhaps a
little more time together?)
