Battlefields tour

From beginning to end Phillipe was a very courteous and informative guide. It was a bitterley cold day when we did the tour which only added to the sadness felt that so many lives, young and old, were lost in the conflict. They must have endured such dreadful conditions in their fight for freedom and ultimately some of them paid with the loss of their life, we can never forget their sacrifice !!! Thank you for your dedication to the memory of the lost souls.

Flanders Fields Tour

Philippe has such enthusiasm and a depth of knowledge of the subject that really brings the tour to life. We left with a much enhanced idea of the dreadful events of the battles around Ypres. All with an easy manner and charm which put us at ease from the start. We found out so much that we were unaware of and even today the effects of the battles linger on. It was a privilege to learn from such a great guide and to visit such emotive places.

Bob and I took your tour and it was the second time for me with you. I really enjoyed it again and Bob thought it was great. You certainly learn the history and it was an informative day. I have nothing critical to say about the day. I do not know how to post this review so please feel free to place it somewhere if you wish. Thanks for a good tour. Lynne and Bob Ontario Canada

Flanders Fields - Battlefields Tour

We visited Bruges during the October half term holiday in 2017. The battlefields tour was fantastic! Our family very much appreciated the finer details of this educational trip. Our host, Phillipe was a mine of information. Reading about this area and the history connected to it cannot replace actually experiencing for yourselves the lay of the land and the battles that took place during WW1. Phillipes manner in telling you about the history is never boring or hurried. There is always enough time to take in and reflect each cemetery and battlefield throughout the day. I would seriously recommend anyone to take this trip when visiting Bruges.

Thanks for an awesome day---Phil was very knowledgable and was a pleasure to be on the tour, even with all the rain. All the battle grounds and cemeteries were very touching and meaningful. Everyone should get to know this special place on the globe :)

July Tour

Thanks Philippe for such a great tour. Your knowledge of the First World War and the battles around Ypres, in particular, was astonishing. I was fascinated by your discussion of the Iron Harvest. It is hard to believe that material from 100 years ago is still rising to the surface, endangering people and machinery. I would recommend this trip to the WWI expert or novice. Philippe really brings everything together for the members of the tour. Stay for the Last Post ceremony in Ypres. It is incredibly moving. Thanks again for such a wonderful experience. I will not soon forget it. Nat Williamson

Flanders fields

Myself and mum had always planned to visit the menin gate where my great grandads name is mentioned, rather naively we did not plan ahead. Luckily we found several leaflets in our hotel in Bruges and the Quasimodo one stood out as the most professional, after a quick call from our hotel we were on the tour the very next morning. We arrived at the meeting point and was promptly collected and on our way and what a day it was Philippe our guide for the day was very welcoming and accommodating he has the most amazing knowledge of the local area. The day was full on but everything was taken in Phillipes stride and any questions were answered. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to broaden their understanding of the Great War and to carry on the legacy of the fallen.

Yesterday, 13th May, I booked a tour with my students cause I taught them a lot about the First World War. But just reading dusty and boring books is not as interesting as a real life experience. So we made a trip to Bruges and made a magnificent, depth experience in Flanders Fields. My students and I were very excited in Phil’s broad explanations made by his expert knowledge and presented it with so much passion! Thank you so much for this experience - it was awesome!

My friends and I would like to thank Quasimodo tours and especially Philip for a most enjoyable tour. Well worth the money for the experience of seeing all the sites and Philip is a very informed and educational host. We all enjoyed it and would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone who is thinking of going to Brugge on a short break.
